Texas Policy Polling
Texas Policy Polling is an independent political research operation publishing voter-file-matched panel research on Texas state politics. We field surveys on the races, ballot measures, and policy questions shaping Texas — state legislature, statewide offices, propositions — and publish topline data with full methodology disclosed.
TPP is a product of RFT Media, a digital infrastructure agency based in Nederland, Texas. RFT operates the research program; TPP publishes the work and sells research products to political clients, media, and policy organizations.
Why this exists
National polling has converged on horserace numbers for federal races that already get covered exhaustively. The races where Texas politics actually gets decided — state house and senate primaries, statewide runoffs, special elections, ballot propositions — generally don't get polled at all. TPP exists to close that gap.
How we work
Every TPP respondent is anchored to a verified Texas voter record. That lets us weight against actual turnout patterns rather than modeled likely-voter screens, and produce district-level and county-level cuts that national methodologies can't. Respondents are recruited from public voter file data with consent for matched research — see the methodology page for full detail.
Editorial independence
Research products are commissioned by paying clients — campaigns, media organizations, advocacy groups, and policy researchers. We publish toplines and crosstabs from our own research waves irrespective of what any individual client wants visible. We do not modify findings to favor a client; we do not field instruments designed to produce a predetermined result. When work is sponsored, the sponsor is disclosed on the release.
